TEXSTRAND™ envisions a world where the products we use every day are made with high-quality, rapidly renewable, and sustainable materials through our processing centers located in Texas to process hemp fiber and grain to supply US industrial markets. 

 

TEXSTRAND™ was formed to be the thought leader in the emerging sustainable materials industry by providing sustainable materials and processing services. The company is located in The Great State of Texas which is in close proximity to both farmers and customers. TexStrand™ works with a variety of feedstocks including Hemp, Kenaf, bamboo and Flax. This variety is why TexStrand™ needs a team consisting of Mechanical Engineers, Chemical Engineers, Mechanical Engineering Technologists, Chemists, Material Scientists, and Technicians. The team has highly specialized experience in composites design, manufacturing and testing. They come from broad industries such as wind energy, paper, snowsports, biomass, automotive, academia, and aerospace.

 

TEXSTRAND™ is a supplier of natural fibers reinforcements and fillers for the plastic and polymer composite industries. Our proprietary production processes ensure product consistency and our cutting edge surface functionalization chemistries create fibers that are compatible with most major resin and manufacturing techniques. Our vertical products have applications in the construction, automotive, electrical and electronics, and recreation industries.

 

Hemp Kenaf Bamboo Flax: A Renewable Resource

Sustainable, ecological agriculture requires a revival of traditional multiple-crop cultivation utilizing modern equipment and methods of harvesting and processing in order to reverse the trend of global environmental degradation now in effect. Cannabis hemp is arguably if not obviously the best choice for the purpose. The environmental benefits of hemp husbandry are manifold. The use of hemp as a substitute for wood reduces the extent of deforestation. Hemp is easily biodegradable, so its disposal presents no problems of waste management. The plant requires relatively little fertilizer in comparison to other fiber crops, and it needs little or no treatment with pesticides. Hemp benefits the environment and the rural economy while providing a sustainable alternative source of fiber for paper, textiles, and other purposes.

 

America uses as much wood, by weight, as all metals, plastics, and cement combined. Much of what little is left of American lumber, including old growth, now goes to Japan. About 40% of the trees destroyed in America are used to make paper products, most of which are not recycled. Soon we will have no choice but to use hemp and to recycle as much as possible.

Since its inception in 2019 TEXSTRAND™ Sustainable Materials strives to create sustainable material solutions and provide Carbon Tax Credits through Carbon Credit Trading Companies. Solution

Industrial hemp is scientifically proven to absorb more CO2 per acre/hectare than any forest or commercial crop. In addition, the CO2 is permanently bonded within the fiber that is used for anything from textiles, to paper and as a building material. Sequestering Tons of CO2 per year with proven technology that supplies manufacturers the natural raw fiber material. TexStrand’s mission is to eliminate the use of unsustainable materials in everyday products. Industrial Hemp needs limited maintenance and regenerates soil
Hemp grows in diverse soil types and conditions without the need for chemical inputs and improves soil structure while also protecting and binding soil. The long roots of the hemp plant help to bind soils and combat erosion. It also destroys nematodes and other soil pests, resulting in improved yields of follow on crops. Hemp cleans toxins from the ground by a process called phytoremediation. It was used in Russia to remove radioactive elements following the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
